These numbers are based on fallacies IMO. It seems that that the only figures that really matter are:1) Production 2)Consumption eg for industrial use - or for the purchase of new jewelry 3)New production purchased for saving including new gold purchased by banks of all stripes.

All of the rest is presented in a one sided way. Or, put it this way - the whole story isn't shown. If scrap including jewelry is sold it is also purchased. If the CBs sell the gold it is also purchased. In other words existing gold merely changes hands. But only one side of the ledger entry is considered? Or am I missing something?
