PortalPlayer and InterTrust Announce Strategic Relationship to Provide InterTrust Digital Rights Management in Next Generation Digital Audio Platforms
SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- InterTrust Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: ITRU - news), the MetaTrust Utility(TM), and PortalPlayer, Inc., a supplier of end-to-end digital media platform solutions, today announced that PortalPlayer has licensed InterTrust's Rights/PD(TM) software, a digital rights management (DRM) platform for embedded systems. PortalPlayer intends to integrate the InterTrust DRM capabilities into PC applications, firmware, and integrated circuit designs for a wide range of digital media products, starting with portable audio devices.
PortalPlayer markets its complete digital media platforms to consumer electronics companies. InterTrust Rights/PD Software
The InterTrust© Rights/System(TM) software is the first digital rights management (DRM) platform for embedded systems, including portable devices, set-top boxes, and Win-CE systems.
