Is DBA in such serious trouble? Steve, I know it's not your job to report on bad news but the following message from the Stockwatch forum seems very serious. As the person doing DBA's IR are you able to respond specifically to any of the claims? From the Stockwatch Forum I've heard so many rumors about the great things that are going to happen at dba in the future that I keep coming back to take a look. What I find are rumors but no fundamentals! Recently, I ran into a dba employee who was very open about what was going on. What I heard is that; 1. There are very few sales in spite of ongoing changes to the sales and marketing staff. These changes include the addition of some very high priced people. 2. Marketing seems to have little understanding of the direction they should be going and management has fired a marketing support person. Others are worried that they are next. 3. The new Smart Talk products, the CTI and ST are nothing more than slight variations in the packaging and positioning of the old product. The CTI product was originally designed in 1998 and announced in late 99 because dba didn't have the resources to finish it. It was described to me as as "too little too late" to make a difference. 4. Overall staff moral is very low and people are looking for jobs elsewhere. Recent departures include the comptroller, the engineer who was the prime developer of the Smart Talk and one of the supporting engineers, a marketing support person and a senior member of the accounting staff. This was only one persons view and may not be completely accurate. I'd be interested to see if there is anyone out there who can confirm any of this. I?d also be interested to see if the company has anything add. If this information is incorrect, I certainly expect that dba will step up and say so. dba seems to be able to generate a lot of rumors that seem to have helped the stock price but has done little in the way of making the company succeed. If this is incorrect, it will show in the financials that are due to be released in the next few days. Rumors aren't enough. Until I see so serious improvements in the fundamentals of this company, their stock will remain my untouchable list! To see the original message please go to stockhouse.ca
