The excusive interview is a long-standing ploy to counter negative news. They are continually looking at efficiencies. That statement has no value whatsoever, it's stating the obvious and contains nothing specific. I suspect they are continually looking at ways to increase earnings: why didn't they direct the exclusive interviewer to report that?

Borland had a very large campus in an outstanding location for technology: why did they sell it when prices are really just starting to rise? Instead of an asset they turned the campus into an expense (leasing it) and using the cash they raised ($50 million plus) to make up for Corel's negative cash flow? In other words, just flushing it down the toilet?

Cowpland is once again making grandios claims because the company is under siege and bleeding red ink. It's falling on deaf ears. Finally, the reputation comes home to roost. Linux will indeed do well: Dell, IBM, Compaq, Toshiba and others will not be using Corel's borrowed Linux copy. They will use industry standard Linux or FreeBSD from their own in-house distributions, based on the industry standard kernel: That's what Linux is all about.

This notion that anybody is going to pay for a free OS that Corel puts on a CD and stuffs into a box is nuts. They have already spammed the retail stores: I have seen it go to the front of the OS rack at Fry's one week only to totally disappear into the shelves the next week. Where was the revenue from this channel stuffing effort?
