If you can explain to me in what way this move will "TURN" the game maybe I'll see that it's not a desperate move.

I am catching up on the last 100 or so posts and want to offer one overall reminder for all of us in this Japan / DS-CDMA, etc. business. I think it is very important to remember what is at stake here. Maybe trillions (yes, not billions) of dollars for those on the team with the winning technology.

Let's look at the facts - CDMA2000 is coming soon. Proof - 1X / HDR are here now, shipping as we speak (1X is for sure). Will competitors disparage this as "2.5G" and of no consequence? Wouldn't you with trillions at stake?

W-CDMA/DS-CDMA is coming. The question is when? Ah, but if you are on this team, you would have lots of incentive (remember, trillions of them) to say "its coming soon, just wait, it will be here soon." And similar incentive to badmouth the competition.

It reminds me of the old racetrack movie scenes where the "bad" jockey starts to whip the "winning" horse instead of his own.

I am not dismissing any of the concerns mentioned about what is going on in Japan. I keep reminding myself that all concerns regarding the Q! need to be treated seriously and with respect. I have too much at stake not too.

Having said this, with all that I have read so far (up to #9166, with about 50 more to go), this is where I come out.
