Jim, Yeah, Willy being RAMBUS only is the worst thing Intel can do if they wanna achieve any kinda volume. Oh I can see it now. This fab at intel makes merceds.. but we don't sell very many so it's constantly switching mask sets and has lots of down time. And that fab.. that fab makes willamettes, (see above scenario). Oh and then the 5 different chipsets (piii mainstream, piii server, willy server, willy mainstream, merced server).. and SOMEWHERE in there they have to make celeron IIs and Coppermines... I do NOT envy the Intel boys in the fabs. They are gonna have one hell of a nightmarish time. Regards, Steve PS. When the heck will merced systems launch..
