I don't really know, I just know that he is the sort of person Clinton had on his short list to nominate to the Supreme Court, and that he is considered to have written one of the most authoritative expositions of the liberal view of constitutional jurisprudence. His words, when they run counter to an administration with which he has shown sympathy in the past, necessarily give one pause.....
On the other matters, I had no particular opinion of the basic controversy. Yes, a child ordinarily belongs with his father. However, the mother died trying to flee Cuba with the boy, and the custody situation was, at least, murky at the time of her death. Other issues, perhaps bogus, having been raised, like that of serious abuse, the case begged to be heard in court, it seems to me........ |
