No Mo Mo: Seems MDD'ers have already answered your questions. I will give a short explanation. Island reversals or inverted island reversals can be identified when a section of price action is isolated buy opposing gaps on either side of the price action.

These most often occur at the end of a rally or decline. In the case of a rally, a gap up occurs followed by consolidating price action then isolated by a gap down. Neither gap is filled and the price action continues in the direction of the second gap confirming a reversal. Just the opposite occurs in a decline. What we may be seeing today.

Of course the gaps can eventually be filled depending on the overall trend.

Regards,
LG
