"Didn't someone recently look at the 10-k and determine
there weren't enough shares available to split?
As I recall, there is no proposal to authorize additional
shares. Anyone else remember this discussion?"

There are 250 million shares authorized; 150 million issued so there is enough shares for a 3 for 2 split. And isn't Thursday a shareholders meeting? Couldn't they request more shares to be issued during that meeting?

AMD showed 172 million shares on their 1st Q earnings report, so they can't even split 3-2.

But one of the items on the shareholders meeting agenda in this Definitive Proxy Statement

sec.gov

is "Transact any other business that properly comes before the meeting."

That's an interesting rumor! I can see it now: just as the cheering "Jerrrry, Jerrrry, Jerrrry" begins to subside, Hector advances to the podium and makes a motion, Fran seconds, they have the votes, Jerry bangs the gavel, and "Hail to the Chief" starts up.
