Cheryl,

We don't cotton to trusts is right. MSFT is in no way a trust. MSFT can't force someone to buy something they don't want. Instead MSFT provides alternatives and the consumer decides. I am serious about this.

We like to promote competition and keep capitalism alive and well.

Not really. When we try to promote anything it usually fails unless there is a true demand. A law of economics dictates where there is demand there will be competition. MSFT is simply the best of the competition on the desktop.
Crippling MSFT to help competitors compete is a poor way to promote competition.

As for the Europeans I agree with your comments. I said earlier I was a fan of President Reagan. One of his core beliefs was free enterprise. Let the market do the work and try to keep the bureacrats from meddling. Reagan once said "don't tell the consumer he is wrong", in response to calls for government tarriffs and quotas. He said if the consumer isn't buying your product, then you should work on improving your product.
