Good first quarter as standalone. EPS exactly in line with our estimate. Gross margin 56.1% actual, our estimate: 57%. Only task left is to distribute shares. Semi grew 5% versus last year. Expansion platforms up 40% year over year while VCD contracted 20% during the same period. DVD consumer continued with strong momentum. Co expects to retain market share (13MM-15MM units).

"We believe that the outlook continues to be healthy. The rate of decline in VCD remains under control, the DVD ramp continues to be strong, set-top boxes are starting to ramp and CODECs are starting to come into their own. This series of phased product cycle ramps should bode well for the company over the next several quarters, we believe."
"We have established very preliminary estimates for 2000 and 2001. Our revenue estimate for 2000: $254.7MM and EPS: $0.50. Our revenue for 2001: $310.9MM and EPS $0.60. We will refine these estimates after the transaction closes and the semiconductor management team is able to focus more closely on the outlook for semiconductor as a standalone entity" (Daniel Myers, Covering Analyst). Rank: 1-BUY.
