John: I agree. This is a mega-dog. In the December quarter, AERN reported sales of $1000 - surely, the officers' mothers could have bought more than $1000 worth of AERN's overweight, overpriced batteries. Evidently, the officers' mothers do not like their offspring.
The March quarter showed sales of $12,000. This is a big improvement sequentially over the December quarter, but it took about 3/4 million dollars in marketing expense to achieve those sales. Is that pathetic, or what?
The amazing thing is that AERN still has a market cap of around $50,000,000. There are companies with vastly superior battery technologies, such as Energy Research (ERC on the A.S.E.,) with lower market caps. And ERC is in the black, and is the leading developer of fuel cells for utility power, to boot. AERN's stock seems cheap here, but isn't. |
