While its true that Mindspring doesn't guarantee 1.5/384, most users on the Mindspring ADSL newsgroup report that their getting at or close to that level of performance (the ones that don't are like 20K feet away from the CO).

I virtually ALWAYS get 1.5 Mbps.

I've had Mindspring MAX since January and I can't tell you how happy I've been with their service.

Mindspring permits you to have up to three machines with their own IP addresses on a single connection. I have a LAN with two machines, and before I got a PPPoE enabled NAT, I regularly used two IP addresses. You may want to consider that in your cost calculations.
