The Hollywood portrayal of Federal Marshals is typically a Clint Eastwood western. I don't think that image will wash anymore. Governments have committed more murders than any private freelancer has. Who would you rather get robbed by- a stick-up artist or the federal thug that kidnapped Elian? I'll take the freelancer anytime. The freelancer isn't as dangerous.
