Do you think it's wrong that the DoJ has 'APROVED' and 'DENIED' stamps which it will use one of in the AOL-Tome/Warner merger?

JC I think its an appropriate function of the FTC/DOJ to oversee mergers and acquisitions. I also think there is a role for government to fight monopolies when they have strong evidence that the consumer or public is being hurt by the monopoly and they have an effective remedy.

I don't think the government should be restricting MSFT's right to give a browser away for free or denying MSFT's right to integrate the browser into the O.S. I don't think the government showed how the consumer was hurt. And as for a remedy, breaking up MSFT might result in chaos in the industry and nothing more. Eventually a new leader will emerge. Maybe SUNW?

Anyway, you were saying a year ago that SUNW was going to have it's lunch eaten by IBM and HP.

Oh yeah, you had to remind me of that! <G>
Actually my theory was that the unix market would stagnant and the consequence would be falling margins. Stay tuned!

You're saying now that next year SUNW will be worthy of oversight by the government?

No JC, its not that SUNW would be deserving of oversight, but rather they might get it as a result of success. Just like Mr. Softee
