I liked the comments at the beginning of the EMC conference regarding the trend in storage. Early 90's 28% annual growth, measured in MB. In 95 it was 45% and measured in GB. Now it is 100% annual growth and measured in TB and PB.

My thoughts on this, are that we are definitely not peaking right now. Three to five years out will it be 200% annual growth, measured in Pedabytes and ?

In this trendline, will growth ever accelerate fast enough to put demand for port count on Directors, beyond the latest Ancor model? In other words, right now the market is not demanding 128 port Directors. But as the market growth accelerates, will it ever shift to where demand for ports is greater than Ancor's latest production model? This would put Ancor in the position of being the only supplier able to keep up. If this ever happened, combined with Infiniband, it could create a Gorilla out of Ancor. Thinking positive here!
