<<<I've been waiting a long time for the memory stick walkman, have had great luck with Sony products....."If it has USB, they have my Cr card" I thought. I read the specs, jog wheel, built in lithium battery.....perfection.
But wait, this Adrac3 junk Sony are pushing.....OK annoying to have to reconvert your MP3s....but I kept thinking of those hardware specs.

But wait, tracks have to be 'checked out' and 'checked in'...and must be done from the same machine. Again, annoying I thought....but think jog dial.

Eh....wait again....and here's the kicker...in the fine print...THERE'S A LIMIT OF 3 TIMES YOU CAN CHECK A SONG OUT AND IN.

So I called Sony, I begged them to tell me that I'd misread. But no, after the 3rd time you have checked it out that's it for a track, the rep said it was copywrite protection (thats when I remembered that Sony own a record label). I asked if you could re-encode the track to Adrac 3 and get 3 more times. "Sure" he replied.
So how the hell is that not anything more than extremely inconvenient. He had no answer, but I could sense he's been asked the question a lot of late

So here's the deal, outside the hardware which is sweet, you'd have to convert your tracks from audio, wav or MP3 into Adrac3 which will only play on the player or the OpenMG jukebox ( a process that takes as long as converting from wav to MP3...so we just did away with the benefit USB).
So now twice the HD space is taken up. You are tied to transferring from the same machine. If you uninstall the jukebox all your tracks are gone. You have a limit of 3 times you can tranfer a tune. Before you can put a new tune on the thing you have to 'check in' an existing one/

Advice, avoid like the plague. How damn dissapointing.
