Go back and read my post. I didn't presume to discuss the law, or any facts relating to the governmental action. I was merely stating my belief that, no matter what, Lazaro and his daughter could not peaceably relinquish the boy without falling to pariah status within the Little Havana community. I did not undertake to analyze or speculate upon the state of mind of Reno or Clinton.

If what Reno did was unlawful, courts can provide remedies, including undoing the unlawful and unconstitutional action and ordering the return of Elian to Lazaro. Can you tell me why Lazaro hasn't moved the federal district court for an affirmative injunction requiring Elian's return if the INS action was so plainly illegal?
