(SCKTW)(SOK) Socket and Sprint PCS Complete Development and Purchase Agreements
for Socket's Digital Phone Card

NEWARK, Calif., Apr 26, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Socket Communications Inc.
(OTC: Bulletin Board SCKT and SCKTW; Pacific Stock Exchange SOK) today announced
agreements with Sprint PCS to develop a universal connectivity kit incorporating
Socket's Digital Phone Card. The kit is designed to connect Windows-powered
mobile computers and the Apple PowerBook to Internet-ready Sprint PCS Phones for
use on the Sprint PCS nationwide, all-digital, all-PCS wireless network. Details
regarding the availability of the universal connectivity kit will be announced
later.

Sprint PCS already offers the Sprint PCS Wireless Web Connection Kit, enabling
customers to use their Sprint PCS Phone as a wireless modem when connected to
the serial port of a laptop computer and many other handheld computing devices.
The Digital Phone Card from Socket offers yet another option for wireless data
connectivity. The card's CompactFlash Type I form factor allows users to insert
it into the CompactFlash slot of any Windows-powered handheld or laptop computer
including the new Windows-powered Pocket PC which was announced last week. A
CompactFlash-to-PC Card adapter included with the kit allows the card to be
plugged into the PC Card slot of any Windows-powered Handheld PC or notebook or
Apple PowerBook. Another important benefit is that Socket's Battery Friendly(tm)
plug-in card conserves power, allowing users to operate their digital phones up
to twice as long as with other cabling schemes.

Socket Communications, Inc. develops and sells connection products for
Windows-powered computers and other devices. Socket's products include the
Battery Friendly(tm) family of plug-in cards for enhancing Windows-powered
handheld computers by adding networking, bar code scanning and printing, data
communication, and wireless Internet connectivity. Socket's products utilize the
Company's low power chip technology, making them ideal for battery-operated
mobile computers. Information about Socket's complete range of products is
available on the Company's web site at www.socketcom.com.
