Give it up, kiddo. Notice the references to Finland:

"Last year, the company forged ties with Bell Mobility of Canada and Omnitele of Finland, and has been accelerating the development of relevant technologies and service know-how."

"For instance, countries that have already selected IMT-2000 operators such as Finland gave preferential treatment to existing mobile carriers, according to the Hansol. Italy has announced that it will also give preference to existing mobile service providers when it chooses IMT-2000 operators."

Add that up with Nokia's collaboration with SK Telecom. It doesn't look like SoCal is the center of the 3G world, does it? Helsinki seems hotter in Korea right now.

Mucho - Koreans are increasingly referring to the European 3G bidding process and European 3G market when they discuss their plans. They seem very intent on competing in the vast European W-CDMA market. They can't do that unless they implement W-CDMA in Korea. The companies need domestic W-CDMA experience to compete.
