An exclusive interview given at the same time news is released regarding Corel's dire financial straights is known in the industry as a "pump piece". As usual they managed to avoid saying anything meaningful or specific. Anybody find anything factual directly related to Corel within that pump piece? How about the Linux market? The claims made for the OS have nothing to do with Corel and everything to do with Linux itself. Furthermore and more importantly, what happened to Cowpland's Network Computer claims and his Network Computer? What happened to Cowpland's Java Office Suite claims and his Java Office Suite. What about the claims for Video Conferencing and their Video Conferencing effort? How about Windows terminal software, OLAP and all the other noise-makers that have gone nowhere? See the pattern folks?
