PRICE ACTION:

Let's start off by saying that my reading of FFIV is totally wrong to this point, with an average acquisition price of over $100!

However, presently it looks to me that FFIV:

-- has for some time now been in the hands of the shorts
-- has been downdrafted tremendously by the NASD meltdown
-- just MET their numbers when the result needed to be much greater to whip up enthusiasm
-- guided to a future growth not considered valid for
a huge growth stock

I have no doubt that this is a good company, with excellent long term prospects. However, whether the market is going to pile onto this stock as it has done in the past is quite another matter.

The management have seriously undercut the conviction of the market by selling so many shares close to the top. If this is no longer a huge GROWTH stock, then we are back to just the earnings game.

MAYBE the long term implicit value in this company will be
seen and buying momentum will come back.

Right now it looks to me like just another wounded Internet stock--and there are a lot of those around....

SOME of those stocks may come back--and FFIV is certainly a candidate for that. We will see!

But remember, most of my views about FFIV have been at least short-term-wrong so far, so please let us have some other views about where to from here........!

Best wishes,
Jim
