I thought the law states that a child belongs with his surviving parent? I also thought that his great uncle lost his custody bid when the court of appeals in Atlanta denied to hear his custody motion? When the great uncle lost his custody bid, he should have turned Elian over immediately. He had no legal basis for holding Elian against his father's will. A warrant was obtained before the raid was conducted. The family was given ample opportunity to turn the boy over in a peaceful manner. It seems to me that the family were the ones who were mocking U.S. laws. Their custody claim was denied and they refused to acknowledge that decision.

Mob rules in Miami.
