Wed 26 Apr 2000 News Release
Mr. Peter Mordaunt reports
The continuing drilling at the company's Alamo Dorado silver/gold property
in Sonora, Mexico, continues to yield positive results.
Follow-up drilling on section 4+00 south (south of section 3+50 south where
the previously announced high-grade silver hole AD-49 was drilled) has
resulted in another high-grade drill intercept. These results are an
extension of previous hole AD-12 drilled due east at minus 40 degrees. The
high-grade intercept from 237.0 metres to 289.5 metres down the hole
averages 341 grams silver per tonne and 0.25 of a gram gold per tonne over
52.5 metres. Within this intercept there is a zone 39 metres wide that
grades 442 grams silver per tonne and 0.31 of a gram gold per tonne.
This intersection clearly demonstrates continuity of a very high-grade
silver core. These grades could be indicative of the feeder system
responsible for silver and gold in the deposit. Equally encouraging is the
fact that these high-grade silver intercepts appear oxidized and should
also be amenable to heap leaching. It now appears that the lower intercept
in AD-08 and the extension of AD-13 on section 3+00 south conform to AD-49
and AD-12. As a result of this drilling and confirmation of continuity
along strike, the company will continue to drill this area down dip and
along strike further to the south looking for the extension of this
high-grade silver mineralization. All assaying from the drill program is
carried out by Bondar Clegg Intertek Testing Services.
In addition to these significant high-grade silver results, drilling within
the main zone of mineralization continues to enhance the true width and
down dip extension of the known deposit. This is evidenced by recent
results listed on the table below. Three holes were drilled at 200-metre
spacing along 600 metres of strike length on the southeast anomaly and have
returned low-grade values. The company feels more work needs to be done in
this area and detailed review of the drill material will assist in the
company's understanding of this additional target area.

Metallurgical test work is continuing under the direction of the company's
metallurgical consultant Metcon Research and currently there are seven
columns that have been under leach as part of 120-day leach cycles. These
columns are investigating the extraction rates of an overall composite that
includes high- and low-grade material from all four diamond drill holes
completed for the metallurgical test, as well as columns leaching higher
grade ores from the phase one pit area (DDH-04). In addition, six other
columns have been loaded in the past two weeks that are now looking
specifically at: 1) various column heights and the effect if any on
extraction; plus 2) investigating the specific extraction rates for
low-grade and higher grade material (that is 10 to 25 grams silver and
greater than 25 grams silver) which at this time are treated differently in
the mine plan.
