heinz, i have thought a lot about profit erosion due to efficiencies, and i see it's ultimate outcome as a form of socialism. capitalism by its definition works because of information inefficiencies. once those are removed, capitalism as an economic system has nothing supporting it- except perhaps a greater fool pyramid of financial markets that mask the underlying weaknesses.

btw- i believe the airdrops by greenspan are the first stage in the endgame of capitalism. since companies themselves are becoming increasingly low on profits, the fed has to print more money every day just to keep up with the amount that is removed from the economy and put into "deep freeze" or non-invested assets such as bank accounts or CDs. new money must be created constantly so that new entrants to "the game" have something to work with.

i am unable to see how this will result in anything but complete currency devaluation in the long run, though.

-----------------------
it will create a myriad of operating efficiencies for established businesses while at the same time destroying the essence of profit margins, which is informational deficits.
