oh please. Deflowering of daughters (and I do not recall this COMMON practice) is really not analogous to this.

I do not believe we grant asylum for sexual abuse- I think we had to make a special statute for the genital mutilation cases. Elian's "abuse" is so minor if it even exists it is irrelevant. Of course I don't even think it exists but whether it does or doesn't is not germane.

Can you imagine how many refugees we'd have from sexual abuse? We don't even sever parental rights in this country for sexual abuse. Of course most of those case are male perpetrator and female victim. Maybe that's the real difference in this case. A male imaginary "victim". I wonder if this had been a girl if anyone would have given a shit?
