Well, since Castro is going to take Elian away from his father and his family in Cuba, then the next best thing would be for Elain to stay with his Miami Cuban family. You should not be so willing to split up a family.

Aside from the fact that you can offer no credible evidence of this filial estrangement other than some George Will clone reactionary columnist's opinion about the concentration camp atmosphere of life in Cuba, I can assure you that there is ample evidence to keep him from those narcissistic loonies in Little Havana. I am unable to imagine what passes for family values there. Nor am I inclined to condemn working in the cane fields as nearly so damning as living in the dysfunctional environment that surrounded him in his Little Havana Hacienda.

Look at those Relatives that you are rhapsodizing over. Face it for those people and their criminal records Cuban jails / US jails what's the difference besides running hot water?
