Hello Merry693,
Do not know about day-to-day fluctuations. Or rather, I do know, just uncertain. Whenever I think it should be an up day, it ends up being a down day.

My personal habit, when buying, is to do so in two to three tranches, in combination with put and sometimes covered call selling. When selling, is to sell in one (most time) to two tranches (second tranche with covered calls), and if it is a stock I intend to buy back I leave a round lot in account.

I tend to, when cleaning portfolio, start with the weakest and work my way up. Often I do so in one sitting, and I buy something in that same sitting.
