Captain Jack;

You know I have been harping on the fact that without a substantial increase in institutional ownership this porker will languish and continue to be victimized by momentum types and day-traders. Well, here is some good news - institutional ownership has crept up from 41.7% to 42.2%. It is a small increase but an increase nonetheless. I'll be watching to see if this trend continues and picks up steam. If so, I may just stick around, and go along for the ride. But imho, institutions have got to come back or else this stock is not going up. Individual investors - particularly momentum and day traders cannot and will not get this stock up in any meaningful way. Institutional investors accounted for close to 80% in 1997 and 1998. Institutional investors dropped off dramatically after the dec purchase and were beginning to come back in the fall of 1998 (over 50%) when the ep and em fiasco hit the fan. If I see institutional investors hit 47%+- before Q2 results and if q2 comes in with good numbers then I believe institutions will be back in full force to catch the q3 and q4 ride to 40.

I am also encouraged by the recent news coming out of cpq. They seem to have taken some baby steps toward improving their credibility. Lets hope they can keep it up. ;-)
