Derek, thanks for your response. Please bear with me perhaps this is all been established previously. It is this writers opinion, after sifting through the smoke and mirrors , that ONLY the ROK/LU stop-gap chipsets are software upgradeable. The interoperable K56flex will be introduced in the 2nd Quarter at that time the stop-gap chips are upgradeable to K56flex protocol via software. ROK/LU hope by sheer numbers and dominance to influence the standards committee to adopt their protocol. At no time did either mention that the resultant,2nd quarter chipset could be software upgraded to a compromised protocol incorporating X2 features. They can only software upgrade their stop gap chip! It appears to me that they use semantics and obfuscation better than Slick Willy.
