So tell me if he was raised so well what is his substance abuse about? What drove him to the depths that he needed Christ to raise him again?

Lives in crisis are not generally signs of what I consider being raised well. Having a posh home and advantaged circumstances doesn't necessarily equate to nurture. You may just think George and Barbara are wonderful people, but who's to know how good they were as parents. Children need connection.

And so it is with Elian. He needs the connection of that really fundamental thread in his life and that is his father. It is not Lazaro. And it is surely not his self appointed surrogate Marisleysis.
