I seem to recall someone important stating back in 29, that stocks had reached a "permantly high plateau". From what you said, it sounds like a call for "semi-permanent high mountains and low valleys".

Sounds like a roller coaster to me and just like some amusement park rides, it'll shake the money out of the pockets of many. Remember it's for entertainment only, when it is no longer fun, or you run out of money, or get sick of it, people go home.
