That's not how you "do" a well. You drill it all the way to total depth, set pipe and cement. Then, you come UP the hole shooting and testing your zones, setting packers to isolate the shot zones. After you've picked the zone you want to produce, you go back down and cement/squeeze the zones you don't. Then, you dust the producing zone with some acid and a frac and you set production tubing, and produce. That's for limestone; sandstone's a little different, but not much.

Those mud engineers, they like to tell stories.
