EDUV secures CHINA e-learn mkt-22mil users- eduverse.com signs Agreement with the China Central Educational Technology Center to Provide Educational Software to China's Primary and Secondary Schools RENO, N.V.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 2000--eduverse.com(TM) (OTCBB: EDUV), a leading English as a Second Language online educational publisher, today announced that it has signed an agreement with the China Central Educational Technology Center (CCETC) to provide its globally recognized educational software products throughout China's primary and secondary school systems.
The primary and secondary schools in China currently have a student population of 220 million with approximately 22 million or 10% having computer access today.
The agreement was signed with CCETC in Beijing, China. CCETC operates directly under the Ministry of Education of China and is solely responsible for deploying new technology to advance China's educational systems.
Under the terms of the agreement, CCETC and eduverse.com will work together to provide eduverse.com's current products in a completely Chinese localized environment. The two parties will collaborate to provide existing Ministry of Education approved course curriculum using eduverse.com's technology and business model. As partners in this endeavor, both eduverse.com and CCETC will share in the advertising revenue generated. eduverse.com will establish a curriculum development office in Beijing to work closely with CCETC.
Initially, CCETC and eduverse.com will provide eduverse.com's solutions to the primary and secondary schools that have been selected by the Ministry of Education for advanced technology implementation. Subsequently, the partnership will be extended to the higher education sectors in China.
