Rumor from a source in Inuvialut (formerly the NWT) claims that Darnley Bay Resources Inc. are ahead of schedule and could be starting to drill the Thrasher Zone as early as this week. Be aware that this is the single largest exploration project under way anywhere in the whole world at this time. Diamonds have already been found on the property (see press release April 13/00) but the major targets are suspected mettalic minerals at depth. Good news from the drilling will favor other companies in the area, principally Hornby Bay Exploration Ltd. with 500,000 acres of targeted base metals and the kimberlite pipes which were found on the same formation where Darnley Bay found diamonds. Hornby Bay has two diamond consulting geologists assessing targets and drilling plans for this summer. The Hornby people believe that the chances of Darnley Bays success with their drilling program are very good, with their program which targets both the kimberlite pipes (diamonds) and massive sulphides (nickel, copper, zinc, etc.). News from the Darnley drilling should impact strongly on Hornbys shares.
