I've not followed SUNW as closely as some but your post clearly articulates the problem. Information will continue to grow exponentially and will not respect the constraints of any current solution. If SUNW's problem is that they cannot hire and train people fast enough then this simply means that they will lose share to other companies/solutions which do not have this constraint. We keep coming back to the same point: the limiting resource is people and productivity. The storage-centric model is ascending precisely because the processor-centric approach can no longer keep pace with the demands of the new environment. And the reason for this is that the processor-centric approach is too people-intensive. It's really that simple.
