They don't even have to produce the product. The press recommends people hold off on buying the smaller competitor until MSFT releases their own version for free. The competitor goes out of business and MSFT approaches their developers to buy out the sourcecode. Make a few GUI changes and slap on the MSFT logo and you've got the Microsoft version released after their competitor goes under. That is abuse of monopoly power! The only solution is to break up them up so they do not have the clout to influence retailers and publishers so. I read some really lame reviews of Micrososft products where they half-heartedly point out the flaws. When you see that a large part of their revenue domes from MSFT ad dollars, you can see why there are not many hard hitting critical reviews. Heck, I remember Pen Computing touting Pocket Windows is a sure winner product ten years ago. It failed and became CE which was again hailed. Now you have another loser product PocketPC. -Bill_H
