PHCM is at the point where the FM says we should be buying a basket--they're just starting the tornado, and it's too early to anoint a Gorilla (or King, depending how things work out). We've identified NOK, MSFT and INSP as the main competitors. My plan over the next week is to investigate each, vis-a-vis their position against PHCM. A lot of our original PHCM report lays out the groundwork within which each of these companies must work. So, I don't think full PH Reports are required. But, good writeups on each is certainly appropriate. Please, grab one and run with it. And if you see another competitor in this space, let us know.

An incomplete list of issues would include--
1. What is their product mix? With what products do they have an advantage?

2. What commercial rollouts have they announced, with carriers? And what products are the carriers using?

3. What phone manufacturers have announced support for their mini-browser protocol (if not WAP), and how many models are coming out supporting the protocol?

4. What is their end-game? Following implementation of broadband wireless, in 4 years say, will they be able to migrate their product to the new environment?

Things like that.

Best,
John
