Yes, other than for the net stocks with funny money, no marketing person worth their salt can justify spending one dollar in advertising to get 10 cents back in sales. Hey! Here's a great new idea. Buy my widget for 10 cents and I will give you back one dollar in return. With a billion dollars, I can become a company with $100M in revenues overnight -- multiply that buy 100 (common Price to Sales ratio for Net stocks), and I've got a $10 Billion stock market for cap for a $1B investment. Hey, but what happens when I can't take a dime for a dollar? Oh, don't worry, I'll have a huge user base and then I can sell them anything!!!
