hjz,

Well put! I've got to laugh at my earlier message; it was only about two seconds after I posted that the Naz rocketed from +65 to +125. Fortunately, the stocks I was holding were pretty much played out even before the surge (ERTS, CSCO), so I didn't leave much on the table by selling them. But I'd have been more aggressive through the afternoon if I had anticipated the uptrend.

For what it's worth, I was worried about Greenspan's speech and the lack of conviction that I was reading into the light volume -- when Greenspan's speech hit the wires, the Nasdaq gunned it: warm 'n' fuzzies for the new-economy crowd.

As you and so many other Gemmers know, it's better to stay focused on the tape than to get caught up in macro events such as the economic data. Let the markets tell us what to do, not the economic data and the ghouls on CNBC--.
