Motorola to supply cable modems to Time Warner

CHICAGO, April 27 (Reuters) - Telecommunications company Motorola Inc.
(NYSE:MOT - news) said it would supply up to 500,000 cable modems for Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWX - news), a victory for Motorola's recently formed broadband communications unit.

Motorola, which formed the unit after acquiring cable set-top box maker General Instrument Corp. in January, said the cable modems would be installed in various Time Warner systems within the next two years.
