Dear johnd:

The monkey will soon be on jj's back. What will he do?
It is a legal standard that the punishment should fit the crime. So, if I can paraphrase, "MSFT is guilty of being a monopoly in the PC world on Intel type machines and illegally used it's monoploly to the detriment of ...
I guess it's competitors and the public, tying its IE browser illegally ... blah blah..."

Ok, so what punishment fits the above, proposed by the doj and 19 skates?

The punishment will have to be very specific, to prevent the above abuses from recurring, but without harming the public consumer. Kind of a tightrope walk for the rather rotund jj, don't you think?

jj could send the breakup proposal remedy back to doj if he thinks it will not work, but this is probably doubtful ...

This is probably the final scenes in Act iii of a total of iiii Acts. The chance for a settlement is gone.

Act iiii will reveal the true colors of the players:
billy g -stubborn, proud, brave
ballsmer -stubborn, fighter, tough
reno -stubborn, bully, vindictive
jj -stubborn, narrow minded, weak
