Dan was referring to the recalls of some of the 840 motherboards. All of those motherboards featured an RDRAM-to-SDRAM translator that was causing problems when used with ECC SDRAM.

Although this is yet another blemish on Intel's already spotty execution record, I don't think this specific event was much of a big deal. Most customers who want the 840 chipset also want RDRAM, not SDRAM.
