These articles cause new buyers to stay away. The holders of the
stock ignore these articles, but then as people sell (and don't
find any new buyers) the price drops, causing even the holders
to eventually sell.

look at the pattern, small volume as the stock falls
to a resistance point, then heavy volume takes over and continues
the fall. We need a massive volume big drop day to
finally break the trend and signal a reverse.
