TO ALL: To those that think I do not listen you are wrong. I have given the past few days events considerable thought. While I have a few public supporters, it appears in my efforts to defend MDD from spamers, grandstanders, nasty critics, frauds and disrupters I am doing just about as much damage to this thread as they are, at least it appears so...<ng>
If this were a "User Moderated Thread" those that choose to ignore the guidelines could be dealt with in a relatively professional manner. Private request could be sent to offenders to observe the guidelines and in rare instances public request may be appropriate. If that did not work, access to the thread could be denied. No need to have extended public exchanges. However, in the absence of this tool, I have found myself stooping to low levels trying to jousts them off the thread. It seems the cure is as bad as the ailment or worse.
My concern has always been that the MDD Thread would increasingly deteriorate as disrupters, critics, grandstanders and frauds begin to populate the thread. In an effort to stop this from happening it seems I have participated in the very thing I have tried to prevent.
The choices as I seem them shy of having the benefit of a "User Moderated Thread" are two. One is to continue to defend MDD as I have been doing and in the process continue to alienate some of the great contributors I have sought to attract to MDD. Two, stand aside and allow MDD to sink or swim as it encounters those that refuse to follow the guidelines, spamers, granstanders, nasty critics, frauds and a variety of disrupters.
From my perspective neither choice looks good, but at least number two allows me to retain what integrity I have left with some of the contributors to MDD that feel I have been in the wrong. Some being the very types of contributors I have tried to draw to this thread and some I have come to respect. I think prudence at this point, dictates that I should back off from my current methods and so I shall!
I apologize to all that I may have UNINTENTIONALLY offended in my efforts to maintain standards on this thread.
I will continue to contribute to MDD as I always have!
In the mean time I will keep my fingers crossed that my fears were misplace and that MDD will continue to be a great place for market discussion and prove a "User Moderated Thread" option was never necessary.
Good trading all...
