Interesting point from the Fortune article...when asked about B to B companies Welch responded that he couldn't understand why companies would hire outside companies such as Commerce One to do it for them when they should do it themselves thereby eliminating a middle man along the way....he made the point several times that GE wants to get closer to its customers, become more direct a la Dell and provide more services as a result....he used the new MRI as an example and said, btw, that hospitals were buying the new machines (at a 40% higher price than the old ones) "like grapes". gg
