Good question. I think IBD and Valueline considers only operating earnings. I wouldn't get caught up in the details. IMO Plenty of pin heads around that do that. I would find a reliable FA screen such as valueline or IBD EPS or Zach ratings and spend time with the fun stuff such as what is the P&F sector doing.

Now you've got me looking at this sector! I'll put CGP on the top of my spare parts list.
