Lakers: your comment about selling at a loss to chase new stocks reminds me of that old joke: "How do you make a small fortune in the stock market? Start with a big fortune." Some of my friends flip in and out of stocks too much and have too many stocks to keep track of. You're right, you'll just erode your principal. I think some of this may be due to the excitement of gambling. The daytraders interviewed on CNBC tonight talked about the excitement they experience when trading. On the other hand, I've learned that I have to cut my losses a lot sooner when my stocks are going down and go to cash so I can buy on the dip or buy back in lower. I am looking at an index card showing my entry price & number of shares for each of my stocks. In every case these stocks went much lower & I held. I don't think JB would have done that, do you? If I'd sold sooner, I would have been in a position to take advantage of recent dips on Golden List stocks. It's the bottom line that counts. In the future I will be a lot quicker to sell, and a lot slower to buy. You see how these crazy stocks fall back even after good news. Look at ARYN today. I was tempted to jump in (I've made money on that one before), but I bet it would fall back again, and it did. If you miss one, well, there's always another stock! Enjoyed your post. Take care. I like the fellowship on this thread. Very different from the sniping & carnival atmosphere elsewhere.
