The old party structures, on either side of the aisle, can not solve the problems of the nation. They have been doing things the DC way for far too long to be objective in their legislation. Libertarians have some valid points but, what chance do they have of getting anyone elected.
I agree with this, but I'm not sure I'd want to see a Libertarian elected. American libertarians seem a bit on the doctrinaire side, and a bit extreme, for my taste. Even a very good idea taken to extremes can be bad.
I'd like to see all the liberals in America admit to themselves that there are some smart people with reasonable ideas on the conservative side, and all the conservatives admit that there are smart people with reasonable ideas on the liberal side, and all the people on both sides take two giant steps in the libertarian direction.
It won't happen.
Rudeness should not enter into discussion but, when one has no logical position to stand on, that seems to be the only course they pursue.
Sometimes people with very logical ideas are disgustingly rude, and sometimes people with no logic at all are perfectly polite and as nice as anyone anywhere.
I don't think it's really involved with being right or wrong; I'd just like to see everyone cool down a little, and take it all with just a grain of humor. |
