*OT* Uthabros, I did notice you wished everyone Happy Easter on the DRIV, ANYI and BANY boards - I have them all bookmarked, but don't see nearly as many messages there as I used to.
DRIV - gonna be a winner, but in for some turbulent times since investors seem to finally be more particular about whether a company is earning a profit or not. IMO many internuts won't make profitability, but DRIV will, someday, they have a great team. I don't trade the stock right now because its price will probably never again get the valuations it got when it was ~$60 last year.
ANYI - is unrecognizable to me anymore. I had everything about the old ANYI down to memory, the whole prospectus, but they literally dumped the whole businessplan and management, and replaced it with a ripoff of LFMN and some new hapless management (although perhaps not as scrupulous as the OLD team). I actually bailed on locking up my shares at the last minute when I suspected the new management were playing some games, figured I would (and did) make more money trading in and out (mostly out). I've been out since the pretend-LFMN businessplan kicked off - but IMO just shows there's always a new group of suckers to be brought in to the OTC:BB. At this point, from what I can tell, ANYI seems to be positioning itself for its next pump (followed by the inevitable dump). To be honest, I don't doubt they'll be able to pull it off again. I'm half tempted to buy some just because I think they'll figure a way to get the price temporarily above $7-10 again. My advice would be to sell then, don't be greedy and hold on again, buy again when its half the price. Some folks never seem to learn, speaking of which....
BANY - so sad to see a few poor souls who haven't figured that one out yet. No need to explain, all the signs are/were there all along. I made alot of $ momentum trading that puppy, but those that kept holding for the "promised land", even after being up several hundred % - - well, now I've come to just fell sorry for them, because they are the true victims of these types of deals. I made some easy $ one day buying and selling BANY on the pick sheets when ANYI was doing its LFMN move, which is all BANY is really good for anymore. If you must buy/trade BANY, do it fast, have a MM making your trades for you, and only use BANY news to predict the momentum - do not ever buy into the hype.
I've learned alot here on SI. First from TSQD and DRIV, then from BANY and ANYI. I still watch ANYI/BANY almost like you'd drive by a car wreck. DRIV is a winner, I've just lost my will to trade it right now because its sector is out of favor IMO, so there's no momentum.
Two stocks I have now are probably the best and worst stocks to own the SAN sector. JNIC is a pure SAN play, amazing growth Q2Q, profitable, a definite winner - I'd recommend buying on weakness (anyhting less than $35 IMO). VIXL is the only SAN stock to miss earnings 1Q, its unprofitable but cash rich, probably needs a couple Qs to get things running right. It'll probably pan out, but is still looking for a bottom on a daily basis. Could be an awesome pick to hold if you can predict the bottom.
Anywho, I hope my diatribe is of some use. I post less and less on SI because it takes so much effort to learn new stocks and sectors, and unfortunately most of the SAN talk occurs on Yahoo (who woulda thunk it?).
Stick w/ DRIV for the longterm as long as you can live with the volatility and occasional dissapointments in price even while the company does everything right. Heck, I might even put in an order in case she drops back to the $8.50 IPO price on a bad nasday (not that I think it will drop). I have fond memories of TSQD and DRIV, I guess all I can say is at least she beat the hell out of BYND ;) |
